The Blackmores Sydney Half Marathon in September. My second half marathon (I did the same run the year before in just over an hour and a half with no structured training program, and I wanted desperately to beat the 90 mins this time so I did the last 6 weeks of a Pat Carroll progam from the website. It worked - 88mins - but it really took it out of me, I was in all sorts for a few minutes at the end. I didn't even recognise Sarah cheering for me as I crossed the line. At least I know I poured it all out and had nothing left by the end.
The Hope Street Charity fun run. I heard about this at the last minute and gave it a crack. It was a really fun outing, running through the city from Glebe to Woolloomooloo, back to Glebe and back to Woolloomooloo for the end. Supposedly 15km, but it was definitely short. An excellent event, culminating in a big breakfast for homeless at the end.
