Bay in a Day - Commentary

I drank probably 12 litres of powerade / water / endura optimizer on the way. Drank lots the day before and night … ate heaps of gu’s (yuck) and power bars to the extent of nearly gagging – but need to have it. Warm Gu’s and water – hideous. Yes, heat was a killer. A couple I saw were throwing up on the side of the road, some others looked totally shattered.

36C in Melb, with hot nor’ westerlies in Oct is hard to take.

I cycle now also with an outstanding Irish athlete and he said Sunday’s ride was harder than any marathon he has ever run – by a long shot.
