DY Ocean Swim

Interesting tidbit from the Oceanswims.com website

"Carnage" at Dee Why, as it was put to oceanswims.com by several swimmers. Michael Williams is treated by ambos, whilst a TV crew sticks its camera and microphone in his face, in what is to our minds an appalling display of bad taste and insensitivity. We understand this crew was producing a documentary marking the centenary of surf life saving.

As Michael was carted off to hospital, we understand his cobber was asked by the TV crew to sign a waiver allowing them to use the footage. We ask: What position is someone in, given Michael's predicament, to perform some commercial, legally binding act like that? We reckon it's an outrage, and up theirs (the TV crew's)! But then, that's how TV operates.
