I was very happy with the way I pulled up after Huskisson this week. After the Canbera Half Ironman I was feeling average all week and when I tried to go for a slow job the next weekend I couldn't even make it and ended up having to stop running altogether and just walk slowly home.
This week I felt great, took Monday of altogether as a precaution, then jogged to work and back on Tuesday and did 20 minutes of spinning on the indoor trainer after work just to get the muscles moving. Wednesday was a nice long yoga session and another jog to work and back (4km each way).
Then Thursday I thought it was time to get back on the horse so did a good hard 40km ride with the Boundary riders in the AM and at lunchtime did 10 x 3min repeats running around farm cove with the Tues / Thurs group and felt good for almost the whole session. I can't believe I was able to do two fairly hard workouts in the one day just 4 days after Husky but my body really stepped up.
Friday I did more yoga in the morning then a hard swim at lunchtime of about 1700m total and spent the evening assessing whether I'd have a go at the Sydney Striders 10km race the next morning and push for a new 10km pb...
