What a dent in the training!
After my workmate spent all of last week lovingly coughing and sneezing all over me in an effort to shower me with her germs, the inevitable finally occurred and I succumbed to illness.
I was feeling pretty crappy Sunday arvo after Kurnell - light headed and with a scratchy throat - and then it hit full blown when I woke up on Monday. I took Tuesday off work and would have taken today off as well, but I couldn't afford to miss anymore work and the office is extremely short-staffed anyway this week. But I'm still feeling like absolute shite and have not done anything more strenuous than blow my nose in the last 3 days.
I just hope I'm able to get over this by the weekend so I can get another long run in, and hope it doesn't jeopardise my marathon training too much.
On the plus side I did better at Kurnell than I realised - 1:06:57
I came 90th overall and was the only guy in the top 100 with a bike split longer than 33:xx minutes (I did 35:35) so there's the area I need to work on.
