Breaking the hex

I just feel like posting something.

Not a lot to say really, Sunday I went for a nice bike ride with Dan, Andrew and Stephen (who spent part of the ride on his mobile trying to deal with the closure of Perth airport due to a bomb scare). It was a glorious morning and we went from Mosman through Frenchs Forest, Terrey Hills, Akuna Bay and back along the northern beaches at a fairly slow pace as we’re all just getting back to riding after a long break. Around 80km for me, so not a bad morning.

The laziness continues with me doing NOTHING on Monday and then sleeping in again on Tuesday. I went to HuRTS on Tuesday arvo and did 6 (out of the scheduled 8) reps of 5 mins. It felt pretty good and I think my pace was ok, Greg joined on after the first 4 and he said at one point we were going at 3.50 pace according to the garmin, so I was happy with that seeing as the reps were supposed to be at half marathon pace. Saw Paul (inhisshadow) for the first couple of reps which was good, haven't seen him for a while and he was fast.

This morning I finally broke the hex of sleeping in! It’s been almost 4 weeks now (admittedly the first 2 were on holidays) of slothing around in bed until the last possible moment to get to work. It’s become a habit and I had to do something to break it, so this morning I said I WILL go to yoga at 5am… and I did! It felt fantastic too, now I’ve just got to re-make the getting up early habit with a few more days of serious willpower.
