Queens Birthday Public Holiday

The plan was a long bike ride with a bunch of mates and I got out of bed at 5am happy to see the rain had stopped. I cycled up to Le Spit, felt a couple of drops, but thought it was just splashback from the road. At 6.04am nobody at all was there, so I assumed that the whole mob had independently decided not to come. I waited a few minutes but nobody showed, so I called Marty to let him know and see whether he still wanted to go out. Turns out it was raining hard in Balgowlah so he said no thanks, then just as I started to head home it came down hard in Mosman too and I arrived home 10 minutes later utterly drenched and freezing. Ah hour later the rain stopped and it was clear for the next 5 hours, but what can you do?

I did feel a bit slobbish so at 6pm when Sarah went to see Sex and the City I cycled down to the pool and did a couple of kms. Two swims this weekend - the first two swims since the Port Douglas local pool in April! What a shocker. It did feel good to get back in the water.
