Sunday long run

Hey now that the results are up for yesterday's Striders 10km I see that I did one second better than I thought I had! I'll take it.

I spent the whole day decluttering the house. I've got two bulging garbage bags of old clothes in good shape to be donated, plus another suitcase of virtually new stuff that I never wear to give to my brother to see if he wants anything. I also went through all my papers, which were piled up randomly. It was time consuming, but satisfying and hey the cats loved it, getting their curious little noses into everything.

When I clean-up was finally finished I was antsy to do something but it was dark, so I jogged down to North Sydney pool and had my first swim since Cairns in mid-April. 6 weeks between swims, isn't that terrible? It did feel really good to get back in the water.

I had found a 6 pack of Little Creatures beers in the spare room and fridged it, so by the time I got back from the pool it was all cheeseless quesadillas and beer for a nice night hanging out with Sarah!

This morning I was supposed to go mountain biking with Marty but it was drizzling like hell so instead I went for a long run by myself. I haven't done that for a while, it felt good. Exactly 3 hours on the hoof around Kirribilli, Cremorne Point to Bradleys Head and back. About 28 - 30km (it's hard to tell with the footpod), a few hills, taking things at a very easy pace averaging about 6 minute kms and HR of 126. It was a slow one, but I did it on no food (didn't eat before the run or during) and it is just nice to keep the long runs going.
