Monday run, then food poisoning strikes!

We were due to catch the ferry at midday and had a lot to do beforehands, so I thought I'd try to fire out a quick 10-12km around the Stanley Park seawall. It wasn't easy to hold the pace I wanted (I was hoping for marathon pace 4:15s) after the long run yesterday, but I felt ok considering and managed to get close to 4:35 average, getting 13km done in exactly an hour.

When we arrived at Sarah's parent's place on Vancouver island later in the arvo I was so stoked for a big day of training the next day. They lent me a beautiful bike, there are miles of country roads and forest trails, a gorgeous lake to swim in and I had the whole day to myself!

The only problem was that food poisoning struck that night and I was awake the whole night puking. Tuesday was the most beautiful day of the year, but a total write-off for me as I mooched around feeling like crap all day and unable to drag myself off the couch. Today is Wednesday and I'm slightly better, but not sure about actually doing anything which involves physical exertion. This is killing me!

My mum just got back from 3 weeks in Canada/Alaska. I saw the photos last night and it is certainly a magical part of the world. Enjoy.
