A brief report on last week’s exercise schedule. I took Monday easy after the half marathon (my legs were pretty damn sore, especially my thighs walking up and down stairs) so I just did some yoga and the recovery jog to work and back to get the blood flowing into the legs. Then Tuesday did a solid and very sweaty turbo spinning session and I rather ambitiously ran Pain in the Domain at lunch. Joined group one but took it fairly easy, and got chatting with Ray Wareham near the end so we ran the last 3 sprints very slowly together, which was just what I needed as I was still in recovery mode.
Wednesday I did another yoga session in the morning (I don’t normally do them back to back, but the Thursday was a Moonday and the Friday was a practice of 50 sun salutes which I wasn’t thrilled about doing). I tried to go for a swim at lunchtime, but the damn Cook & Phillip pool was closed for water quality testing as they’d found some dodgy bacteria in there!
Thursday was a road ride of 45km around Mosman and then a lunchtime swim at the Boy Charlton pool on a 27 degree day which was absolutely glorious, it’s such a gorgeous pool.
Friday morning did another road ride on the same route, then left work at lunchtime to get away to Jervis Bay before the traffic in order to go to Mia & Dan’s bucks and hens weekend. More details on that on my other blog. I ran over the bridge and hit the North Sydney pool on another hot and sunny arvo for a beautiful couple of kms in the pool with a lane all to myself for most of the time.
