Monday I was tired. Tuesday I was tired, but instead of taking it easy and going for full recovery I foolishly did Pain in the Domain and hammered myself again. Yesterday (Wednesday) I did NOTHING! Slept in like a baby and went to go for a swim at lunchtime but the Boy Charlton pool was shut for water filtration or something, so that plan was scuttled. Probably for the best - a complete rest day.
I wsa a little unsure how I'd be this morning but shuffled off for a Boundary Riders ride (I missed Tues because of precipitation) and once I got going I was pleasantly surprised. I was still last, but I didn't get dropped. This has more to do with being lucky at traffic lights than any extra skill on my part, but I did make a huge effort to keep up. I even managed to do one round of the paceline in North Manly, but dropped back on the second round.
I'm tempted to do some hard running today but I'm going to do my best to resist that temptation and take a swim instead.
