Last Thursday I went to see Blair my physio and he presented me with a schedule to get back into running! It’s a very slow reintroduction, but I’m excited just to be getting into it again.
On Saturday I went with a bunch of guys to do the Four Gorges ride – Bobbin Head, Berowra Waters, Galston Gorge and back through Bobbin again. We accidentally went the reverse direction (Berowra first) which was something a bit different. Some of the boys were all about attacking on the hills so we had a good solid ride, it was really really enjoyable and I was stoked to be able to knock over 140km of hills fairly fast and still feel good getting home.
I grabbed a shower and went to help a mate move some furniture, then came home and decided to try my first run in about 5 months. The park behind our apartment, right on the waterfront and just barely long enough for me to run for 1 minute. So it was 1 min running, 1 minute walking x 6. Let me tell you, running again after so long off it felt very odd. Good though, after the first couple of reps I warmed up into it and was feeling good! 6 minutes total running. It’s a start!
