Anxiety dreams

On the negative side - I had the most horrible sleep last night. A series of fairly pedestrian dreams (having lunch at a nice winery with a group of people, travelling on a bus) however they all involved an awful feeling of being on edge and stressed by a never-ending parade of essentially trivial annoyances which built to become absolutely overwhelming. The only punctuation was at 4am when one of my cats painfully sank a claw into my left buttock to demand I fill her food bowl. Then I collapsed into an even worse dream!

When the alarm rang I experienced for the first time a feeling of being happy to be awake at 5am because it was so much less stressful than the world of sleep, which provided no haven whatsoever for me last night.

On the positive side - once I calmed myself down I felt good to be awake at that time for the first time in almost a week. I've been feeling extremely tired and run down every other morning and yesterday I thought it might be an iron deficiency so I bought some supplements. There's no way they would have worked this fast, but for whatever reason it was, I'm just thankful to have shaken the lethargy.

Went out for a fairly fast Boundary Riders ride before work which felt sensational, then at lunch did Mona fartlek through the gardens at the back of the group. A short workout of only 20 mins total, but it was done hard:
2x 90sec on, 90 sec off
4x 60sec on, 60 sec off
6x 30sec on, 30 sec off

HR max 182
HR av 166 (including recovery)

Then jogging back to work I got absolutely and utterly soaked by a flashflood style rainstorm that came from nowhere and dried up completely half an hour later. Thunder, lightening the whole bit - it was fun! Oh man I just ate the two biggest sandwiches in the world and now I can barely move or blink.
