Long-ish run

SAT

The training for this marathon was pretty much unplanned. I initially started with the FIRST 3 runs per week program, but the paces were way too fast and I couldn’t stick with them. Since the whole point of the program is to only run 3 times but at a faster pace, there wasn’t much point continuing was there?

Then after that I basically did what I wanted. A few races here and there, a long run every Sunday and two hard sessions in the week. We’ll see how it works in just over a week…

Now at the very end I thought I’d take on the 3 week taper suggested by the plan I did for my last marathon, at least in terms of long runs. It suggested a 35km run (which I did last week) then a 26km, a 16km run and then the race.

I’ve been spoilt the last two weeks after doing long runs with Andrew and Kathryn and I can’t run long by myself anymore! So we teamed up again, along with Chris, for a 26km jaunt around Mosman and Cremorne. It was a gorgeous morning and a lot of fun running with that group! I never want to run long alone again.
